Jaeger-Unitek News 2024
Friday, April 12, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of Arnold Jäger, the son of the founder of the JÄGER Group.
He passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 92 after a short illness.
Arnold Jäger Junior began his career on April 1, 1948 as an apprentice in the company of his father, Arnold Jäger Senior.
In addition to his commercial training, he completed a traineeship at Gummi-Hansen during the day and attended the technical evening school for mechanical engineering in the evenings.
Despite his busy schedule, he found time for his passions: tennis and cross-country skiing in the Harz Mountains, where he also met his future wife Regina.
With his enthusiasm for rubber and plastics, he inspired many customers and created pioneering application solutions. These included industry-defining innovations for the oil industry in Celle, the famous “Jäger agricultural machinery belt” as a replacement for iron chains in potato harvesters and rubber membrane hoses for biological wastewater treatment.
Even 60 years later, his many ideas and patents continue to shape JÄGER’s success at home and abroad.
His wife Regina complemented his technical expertise with strategic vision. Together they defined the organizational structures of the JÄGER Group in the “Jäger 2000” study, which are still in place today, and prepared the generational transfer to their sons.
From 1995, after handing over the management of the company to their sons, Arnold and Regina enjoyed their shared passion for skiing and hiking trips, especially in the USA.
But they weren’t really thinking about retirement just yet. Instead, they founded the JÄGER Group’s first foreign company for rubber dog toys and plastic bowling pins in Denver.
Arnold Jäger remained closely involved with the company until the end and was often to be seen at the new headquarters. He was particularly proud and pleased that he was able to witness his grandson Julius Jäger becoming Managing Director of “his” company Gummi-Jäger.
His motto “just do it”, his passion and curiosity as an entrepreneur and as a product developer lives on in the JÄGER Group in the 3rd and 4th generation.
